For Ohio seniors, the end of the school cross country season could come with another opportunity: a chance to represent Team Ohio.
The Ohio boys coach for the Mideast Meet of Champions reached out to Podium Watch to help spread the word to athletes, families, and coaches. Seniors interested in participating this November are encouraged to complete the athlete interest form through the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches.
The 2026 meet is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, in Kettering, Ohio, according to the Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches. It brings together senior runners representing their states for a postseason cross country race.
For selected athletes, it is an opportunity to line up alongside runners they have competed against throughout high school and race together as teammates.
How to Express Interest
According to the Ohio boys coach, interested athletes should visit the OATCCC website, open the Seasons tab, and select Mideast Meet.
Athletes should complete all three sections of the interest form: athlete information, coach information, and parent information.
Submitting the form allows an athlete to be considered for selection. It does not guarantee a spot on the team. The boys coach said he plans to contact athletes after the state meet in November.
Visit the OATCCC Mideast Meet page
The page currently displays information from the 2025 meet. If the current interest form is unavailable, athletes and coaches should contact the Ohio team coach to confirm how to submit their information.
A Chance to Wear Ohio Across Your Chest
For seniors hoping to extend their final cross country season, this is an opportunity worth discussing with their coach and family.
Coaches, share this information with seniors who may be interested. Completing the interest form is the first step toward being considered for Team Ohio.
